2021 MakseLife Planners – Interview With Sierra Friend

We recently chatted with Sierra Friend, Founder of MäksēLife, to talk all things planners, goal setting, the growth of MäksēLife and what ‘s to come in 2021 and beyond.  Take a listen below:

2-in-1 GOAL SETTING SYSTEM

The MäksēLife Planner 2-in-1 system has goal work built into your everyday planning with monthly goal setting pages, weekly action pages and quarterly check ins that are all designed to keep you aligned with your goals. The first section of the planner (before the months) is dedicated to “Goal Setting and includes your initial Life Compass Assessment. This assessment (pictured below) is a powerful tool used throughout the planner (yearly and quarterly) to increase your self awareness, recognize opportunities and set intentional goals while tracking your progress. The assessment scores eight key areas of life:

The goal setting section also includes educational and helpful information that guides you through the process of determining what matters most, accessing where you are at currently and where you would like to be by the end of the year. By incorporating the monthly goal pages along with the weekly action pages you are able to have the space to reflect, track and make adjustments when needed to ensure continuous progress. There are also pages dedicated to setting your intentions, creating a vision board and noting monthly reflections.

COVER DESIGNS

There are four new cover designs in the 2021 collection, two of which are artist collaborations. The inspirational quote cover “Hold Onto Your Vision” is designed by Thobi D. Brown @callmethobs and features a deep indigo background with a colorful rainbow and hand-lettering. The “Watercolor Floral” cover is designed by Jess Park @jeshypark and features hand-drawn illustrations of pink peonies with gold foil accents. The two other covers are “Color Stripe Linen” which has a bold colorful stripe design and “Grey + Navy Stripe” which has a classic minimal design.

In addition to the goal setting pages, the planners have minimal interior layouts which include monthly and weekly spreads (vertical or horizontal). The simple design makes planning easy and less overwhelming. All of the covers are available in either vertical or horizontal layouts. 

STICKERS 

Also new in the 2021 planners is a sheet of colorful stickers and a laminated back folder in addition to the interior cover pocket. The stickers are designed to coordinate with the planner’s color scheme as well as with each of the areas on the Life Compass Assessment.  There is also a new sticker book as part of the launch that includes 15 pages of functional matte stickers designed to coordinate and fit in all the lines and boxes of the planner.

COMPANION NOTEBOOKS

The 2021 collection also includes new goal setting Companion Notebooks designed for people who are brand loyal to another planner or maybe plan digitally but still want use the MäksēLife goal setting system. The notebooks are quarterly A5 size and include the Life Compass Assessments (monthly and quarterly), undated monthly spreads, monthly goal pages, weekly action pages and monthly reflection pages plus an interior pocket. They are sold as a set and will be available for pre-order during launch.
